Chris Young Infection…Mystery Solved!

Chris Young had a pretty big health scare earlier this month, when an infection in his leg required quick surgery and for him to sit out a few tour dates. It was said to be some sort of bacterial issue, but the singer has revealed a very simple, surprising cause of the problem — one that many of his fans likely deal with on a daily basis.

“You know what, it was an ingrown hair,” Young admits. “Yeah, and it was something that I thought got out and was fine.”

An ingrown hair caused that much of an uproar in his life, including septic shock, which could have killed him, and eventual surgery? You bet.

Young furthers, “It wasn’t anything weird like, it wasn’t like I was having any pain in my leg or anything. It’s scary. Like I said, I left Nashville and was fine. Three-and-half hours later, I felt like absolute crap.” –

Big Changes for The Monoply Game

Monopoly boards with the new cat token are now being shipped. After 78 years traveling around the Monopoly board, the game’s tiny iron playing piece is being retired. Taking its place, by popular vote, will be a cat token.

Hasbro/REX Features The Hasbro gaming company made the decision following a month-long voting campaign conducted online earlier this year.

Other options in the running to replace the iron had included a guitar, a helicopter, a robot, and a diamond ring — most of which would have nudged the game’s iconography a little closer to the 21st century. But participants in Hasbro’s “Save Your Token” campaign, who were asked to vote one token on and one token off the board, elected the feline figurine. The iron was beaten flat out in a contest that at times looked bad for the wheelbarrow and the shoe.

The turnover of Monopoly pieces is not entirely new. More than 20 tokens have been cast since the game was formally introduced by Parker Brothers in 1935. Back in the early 1950s, the lantern, purse and rocking horse were removed. Other retired pieces include a money sack and a howitzer. –

Stephen Barker of Love and Theft is expecting

It’s been a domestic sort of year for the men of Love and Theft. Stephen Barker Liles announced Wednesday (Aug. 28) that he and his fiancee are expecting their first baby later this year. In March, bandmate Eric Gunderson welcomed his first child.

Liles is engaged to Jenna Michelle Kennedy. People reports that the baby’s due date is Dec. 3, meaning wedding plans are being put on hold. “Right now we’re more focused on nursery colors than wedding colors,” Kennedy says.

It’s not clear if that means the May 2014 target date for the wedding has been adjusted. The singer proposed to Kennedy in May among a romantic scene along the beach in Fort Meyers, Fla. A friend captured the whole thing on camera, and both Liles and his fiancee both broke into tears before sharing the news with friends, family and fans. –

Hunter Hayes In Bangkok

As you know Hunter is doing some touring overseas and in this For The Love of Music he takes you along for the ride. I can only imagine what it was like being on an Asian TV show and it being in Thai instead of English.
